The Septic System Might Not Match the Plan

Homestead and rural property expert, Josephine County Oregon

Here’s my read: this is worth checking before anything else.

A septic system is sized for a specific number of bedrooms and a certain kind of use. It does not automatically scale up because you’re planning a bigger household, a guest space, or heavier water use than the system was built for.

Replacing or upgrading a septic system is not a small expense, and it is not always straightforward on rural land.

Before you commit, it’s time for us to find out the system’s age, type, and rated capacity, and whether it actually supports what you’re picturing.

Questions? Let’s talk.
