City conveniences with valley scenery. The healthcare systems are the region’s largest employers, the shopping and restaurants are the most complete for a hundred miles, and a revitalized downtown keeps adding places worth an evening. Wine country starts minutes away in every direction, Crater Lake is a day trip, and Mount Ashland skiing is under an hour. It is the practical choice that turns out to be a pleasant one.

Medford is really several markets wearing one name. East Medford climbs into the foothills with newer construction, views, and the higher price points. West and south Medford offer the valley’s best value in established neighborhoods, and they are where first-time buyers most often land. North Medford mixes older homes with newer subdivisions. Most Medford purchases are conventional city transactions: services, systems, condition, schools.
